Classes at Skein Sisters
Check our up-coming events, classes and workshops, and social knitting dates in our online calendar.
We aim to provide a supportive environment for people to learn at their own pace, and encourage all students to be mindful of each other in the class. Skein Sisters is a creative space where everyone is welcome and respected. We do not support, condone or promote racism or any form of prejudice and discrimination. Please see below for our classroom etiquette.
Whether you're an absolute beginner or an experienced crafter looking to learn new techniques we'll have something for you. We're adding new classes every week so be sure to keep checking back for updates. In the meantime if there's something you'd like to learn why not drop us a line at email@example.com or call us on 02 9554 7444 and we'll see what we can do.
Workshops with Casapinka 5 - 7 July
Bronwyn - aka knitwear designer and colour enthusiast Casapinka - is known for her courageous and flamboyant use of colour and we couldn't be more excited to welcome her to Skein Sisters on Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July. Casapinka will be teaching a series of workshops as well as an informal meet'n'greet. Find out the details here.
She describes herself as a design-crazed woman who likes pink a little too much and wallpapering things. She teaches knitting all over the USA and adores designing knitting patterns with fun colours and unexpected but simple design touches. Sweaters, shawls, cowls, socks - she admits she loves them all - and she loves getting other people as excited about knitting as she is. In her other life, she is an ER doctor and a huge civil aviation nerd - which she describes as about the loneliest hobby out there!
Casapinka says, "I'm so excited to visit Australia, to teach at Skein Sisters and meet some people that I've only known via Instagram. My 12 year old will be with me and doing three Rubik's cube competitions while we are in Oz. One is in Sydney, one in Canberra, and then the World championships in Melbourne. I've been to Sydney twice but never to the Bondi Icebergs and I'm daring myself to do a polar bear swim in them this time. (Yikes, did I really type that?!)"
Book now as numbers are strictly limited (and it's going to be such fun!)
