Malabrigo Susurro
50% mulberry silk, 25% linen, 25% merino wool
Length: 297mWeight: 100g
Made from mulberry silk, merino and linen, this lovely sport to DK weight yarn is soft and light.
This lovely yarn is soft and light, making it the perfect yarn for autumn and spring knits or when you need to throw on a cardi or shawl in winter or summer. Malabrigo Susurro is made from 50% mulberry silk, 25% Uruguayan merino, and 25% linen wound as a single ply into a DK/Sport weight yarn.
The combination of these three very different fibres results in an amazing depth of colour, giving the yarn an almost metallic sheen. It has a marvelous balance due to the sharp contrast between the texture of the linen and the silkiness of the merino and the silk. It also has a wonderful drape making it perfect for shawls and accessories, garments with plenty of ease and cardigans and jumpers to throw on over your summer dresses.

Note: Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since each bag is a different dye lot, and skeins may vary from bag to bag and even within the same bag, skeins can very wildly! It's the nature of hand-dyed yarns and we always try to choose the skeins that match the closest to each other when you order multiple skeins. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball.
Malabrigo explains: "As Malabrigo yarns are hand-dyed, colours may vary from skein to skein, even within the same dyelot. This is increased for variegated colours. Make sure to get enough yarn for your project and to check that the skeins you are buying visually match. To ensure random colour distribution, you can alternate a few rows from different skeins while knitting. Additionally, there are specific colourways that do not have a dye lot. For these highly variegated or speckled yarns, such as Aniversario, Archinagel, Piedras, etc, the absorption of the dye can vary even within the same batch so the idea of dyelot doesn't apply. Each skein has its own unique beauty and to create a multi-skein project the knitter will need to choose the skeins that are the most similar and alternate the skeins while knitting to blend the colours together."
Susurro is made with Uruguayan Merino wool. Uruguay has one of the biggest wool supplies in the world and is of an extremely high quality, especially in regards to softness. Malabrigo wool is produced by Uruguayan farms that allow their free-range sheep through the hills and are herded by actual old-style shepherds. The controversial practice of mulesing does not exist in Uruguay.
