Air from Wooladdicts is an aran-bulky weight yarn that just has to be squished. Coloured merino fibres are airspun around a core of nylon, which gives plenty of stability for all your favourite chunky knits. The result is a cloudy, foamy look in vibrant colours. If you're after a quick knit or just starting out on your crafting adventure, this is a great choice.

Soft and Springy

By: on 17 April 2020
The first thing I notice about Air by Wooladdicts is the subtle colour variation which comes from different coloured fibres being spun around a central core thread for stability. So it reads as one colour from afar but close up has more interest and is not a flat colour. The yarn is soft and springy and has a bit of a halo but without the mohair which can tickle some people's noses, so this is a nice alternative. My swatch knit up at the 15stitch gauge on a 5.5mm needle, but it looks more Aran than bulky to me, so it is definitely a loftier yarn where the yarn fills in the gaps. To me this is perfect for a soft cosy jumper or cardigan or heavier weight shawl to throw over your shoulders that is still light but warm, or a snuggly throw for the couch. But don't fight over it!
