Clinton Hill Cashmere

Rebecca Kevelson started her knitting career a decade ago as a shop assistant at String, a New York boutique owned by Linda Morse. When the shop was sold, Kevelson went on to write for Vogue Knitting, and she soon noticed a gap in the market for quality soft yarns.

In August 2017, she opened Clinton Hill Cashmere Company, offering yarns which are an incredible 15.5 microns, well below the usual count of 19 microns, making the fibres thinner and silkier than other cashmere yarns and less prone to pilling. The fibre is sheared in northern China and Mongolia before it’s processed, washed, and spun in a high-end Italian mill. The yarn has also been washed after production, meaning that the process of knitting is as luxurious an experience as when you wear your finished project.

Rebecca has also designed a fabulous range of patterns, including hats, cowls, wrapes, capes, throws and garments for both adults and children. You can see the collection of patterns here, and are free from us with purchase of the appropriate yarn. Let us know which pattern you would like in the comments section of your order and we will include it in your delivery.

Taking its name from the suburb of the same name in Brooklyn in the US, Clinton Hill Cashmere has been dyed in 10 classic and on-trend colours - there's sure to be at least one you love! If you want to find out more about Rebecca and how she developed the Clinton Hill brand, you can listen to her on Kristy Glass Knits on 30 Dec, 2017. It's a fascinating story about an amazing entrepreneur.

As Kristy Glass says, "If you want to buy a present for a knitter, buy them cashmere!"
