Based in Adelaide SA, Nicole Golding is a wife, Mum, avid knitter, equine admirer and yarn dyer!
Colagirl Collective was born almost 2 years ago out of a love of colour and yarn. Having been an avid knitter for almost 35 years, Nicole saw dyeing as a natural progression to creating more beautiful things with yarn. Nicole has been crocheting for nearly as long but nowhere as fervently as she knits.
Over the last 12 months Nicole has taken up spinning but doesn't seem to get the time to master this fibre craft as she would like.
Nicole is fascinated by colour and dyeing yarn lets her explore colour and the different techniques needed to get the most out of colour on different fibres. She loves experiencing the vast range of animal fibres used in yarn, and learning how different dyeing techniques are used on different fibres to get the most out of her colour work.
Nicole has produced a range of different yarns and weights for our Sisters' Spotlight this month, from her beautifully soft and fluffy mohair/silk laceweight yarn to tonal and acid-dyed 100% merino wool DK yarn. Nicole tries to source Australian fibres where possible, although some of her merino and merino blends are from South America and the mohair/silk is from South Africa.
We're so excited to be able to share with you Nicole's gorgeous range of hand-dyed yarns, plus a lovely range of hand-made stitch markers. Nicole has also sent us the exclusive colourway Vogue in her Lil' Outback 4ply and Outback DK yarn, and exclusive colourways Clara and Louis in her Drover Self-Striping Sock yarn.
Colagirl Collective's yarns are available in store and online until 5pm 30 June (unless sold out - which is a BIG possibility!).
