Jokamamo Textiles is a small Sydney-based hand-dyed yarn company run by Marianne Bos. Marianne comes from a long line of crafters, with her mother being an expert sewer and knitter. She can still remember her mother busy sewing and knitting new clothes for her and her sisters. This instilled in her a love of the textile arts, which she then passed onto her own children, with one of her daughters being an avid knitter. Having dabbled in the dyeing of fabrics first, Marianne dove headfirst into dyeing of yarn, and loved it! Yarn dyeing has been her main passion and focus for the last 5 years.
After 11 years in Singapore, her family relocated to Sydney in March 2019 and its been an exciting time to be part of a much larger yarn community and to experience the variety of local yarns on offer.
The bold and bright colours of her yarns are inspired by the places she has lived and where she now lives. Her yarn bases are sourced from ethically produced farms and woollen mills where the producers are committed to maintaining sustainable practices and do not practice mulesing. She has also put her sewing skills to good use and made some fun and quirky project bags to store all your yarn projects.
