Spincycle Yarns is a two-woman operation established in 2004. The spinsters - Rachel and Kate - produce luxurious yarns, hand-dyed and spun into small batches of perfection. For eight years they existed exclusively as a handspinnery. But as lovely, and cosy and intimate as this was...it was also exhausting!
They began searching for a micro-mill that would understand their DIY methods of dyeing and spinning. Whilst the spinsters wanted more efficiently produced yarns, they didn't want to give up the unique look of Spincycle Yarns. The search ended on Camano Island on the west coast of the US, where they found an amazing mother-daughter team operating a mill that could meet all of their needs. Thanks to the mill's meticulous spinning, Spincycle have been able to develop yarns that maintain the colour artistry of their original handspun product.
All yarns are dyed in the wool, resulting in intense saturation and unpredictable colour changes. Skeins within a dye lot will blend together beautifully for a larger project, yet every skein is one-of-a-kind.
