These stainless steel tips are perfect for everything from lightweight cardigans to intricate lace shawls. The finely tapered point lets you work detailed stitches cleanly, while the silky surface glides beautifully through your yarn. When paired with ChiaoGoo’s signature Red Cables, the join is seamless and secure, giving you confidence with every stitch.

Made from high-grade stainless steel, the tips feel light but balanced in hand, and the smooth finish resists wear and tear. These precisely-machined lace tips are made of surgical-grade stainless steel. The size is laser imprinted on each tip. 

TWIST tips can be used with Twist Red Cables, SWIV360 cables and SPIN nylon cables (sold separately).

Choice of two tip lengths 10cm/4" or 13cm/5". 

We use the 13cm tips for almost all knitting; the 10cm tips are great if you have small hands or if you want to use them with 15 or 20cm cables to make a smaller circular.

Important interchangeable tip & cable connections:

  • 1.5mm - 2.5mm tips connect with the MINI size cables
  • 2.75mm - 5mm tips connect with the SMALL size cables
  • 5.5mm - 10mm tips connect with the LARGE size cables

ChiaoGoo

ChiaoGoo means 'highly skillful and crafty lady'. She was the mother of the four brothers who founded the company – a knitter who kept a family of seven warm through long winters, sold what was left over to neighbours, and tested every needle the family made.

Her husband built a bamboo needle workshop in the early 1980s. His father before him travelled from town to town with a bamboo tool kit, making chairs, baskets, rice barrels and steamers. In 2005 the four sons incorporated it properly: made in Hangzhou, distributed from Troy, Michigan.

Two things they do that nobody else bothers with. Three different join diameters, because one join can't serve a 1.5mm needle and a 10mm one equally well. And the honey colour on the bamboo isn't stain or varnish – it's heat.
