Behind Julie Asselin Yarns are Julie and Jean-François, two craftspeople who've been working with textiles since 2011. They dye in their own workshop in Sherbrooke, Quebec, and keep refining how they do it, with production kept local and responsible.
Their whole approach to colour comes from one idea. Lots of people talk about stepping out of your comfort zone – Julie and Jean-François would rather you stretched it, broke down its borders and made your own path. So go on, pick the colour you'd never normally reach for.
Community matters just as much to them. Whether they're in the workshop, at a festival or running a dyeing workshop, they want every maker to feel welcome and celebrated for who they are. We're so glad to be bringing their yarns to Australia.
