Thurlby Herb Farm is a family business in the southern forests of Western Australia, just north of Walpole. They have been growing herbs and making botanical products there for more than 30 years, using traditional knowledge and ingredients from their own garden and the landscape around it.
The range is free of synthetic additives, parabens and lauryl sulphates, and everything comes packaged in recycled cotton paper. The principle has always been a simple one – make things good enough that you would happily use them yourself.
For knitters and crocheters the useful part is moth protection that does not smell like a chemical. Tuck one in with a wool stash, a drawer or a project basket and it works away for months. When the scent starts to fade, a light scrape with a serrated knife wakes the essential oils up again.
