Why you'll love it

Ready to move beyond scarves and dishcloths and into the wonderful world of “real” knitting projects?

This welcoming workshop is designed as the perfect next step for knitters who know the basics and are ready to grow their confidence. Using a beautiful triangular shawl as your learning project, Linda will guide you through the essential techniques that open the door to garments, accessories and more adventurous patterns.

Shawls are the perfect canvas for learning – relaxing to knit, wonderfully wearable, and ideal for playing with colour, texture and shape. In this class, you’ll begin knitting your own striped garter stitch shawl while learning the practical skills and techniques that take your knitting to the next level. Along the way, you’ll build confidence reading patterns, understanding shaping, and creating polished finishes, all in Linda’s warm and supportive teaching style.

In this class you’ll learn…

  • How to confidently follow a simple knitting pattern

  • How to work increases to create a triangular shawl shape
  • Garter tab cast on techniques
