Why you'll love it

Unlock the secret language of knitting with our Learn to Read Knitting Patterns class — the perfect next step for beginners who want to knit with confidence. If you’ve ever looked at a pattern and felt overwhelmed by abbreviations, brackets, or charts, this workshop will change everything.
In this friendly, hands‑on session, you’ll learn how to decode pattern instructions, understand stitch repeats, and keep track of your rows like a pro. Linda will walk you through real patterns together, demystify the jargon, and give you practical tools that make every project feel achievable.
By the end, you won’t just be following patterns — you’ll be understanding them. That means fewer mistakes, more enjoyable knitting time, and the freedom to choose projects you’ve always wanted to try.
Perfect for new knitters ready to level up, or anyone who wants to feel more confident tackling their next project.

What you will learn:

  • What to look for when choosing a pattern
  • How to understand pattern layout and flow
  • Common abbreviations
  • How to read the actual instructions - including the repeats
  • How to keep track of where you are up to in a pattern - and when to use stitch markers
Skills Needed

This class is perfect for beginner knitters who know how to knit and purl but want to progress to knitting more than a scarf or a blanket. Also suited to more experienced knitters who want to feel more confident reading the pattern for their next project.
