Why you'll love it

Whether you're a die-hard knitter or just yarn-curious, learning a few basic crochet skills can level up your knitting game. From fixing mistakes without the drama to adding unique finishes, a crochet hook is one of the most versatile tools a knitter can have.

In this class with Jane, you'll learn and practice hands-on crochet techniques that will leave you with new-found confidence and creativity. (and you don't even have to know how to crochet!)

In this class, you'll learn how to:

  • Fix knitting mistakes: use a crochet hook to pick up dropped stitches or fix errors (like mis-crossed cables) without frogging rows of knitting

  • Provisional Cast On: learn how to work a provisional cast on

  • Yarn-saving cast off: discover how to cast off when you’re short on yarn

  • Pick up stitches: master the technique of picking up stitches for button bands and edgings

  • Button details: create button loops or crochet your own buttons

  • Decorative edges: add tidy or decorative crochet borders to your knitting

  • Seaming & joining: learn to seam pieces together or join squares

  • Incorporate beads: learn how to add beads into your knitting without having to spend ages threading them on!

Class Highlights:

  • Hands-on practice: Bring your own pre-knitted swatch (see below) and do the hands-on learning in class
  • Practical tips
  • Personalised help and advice from an experienced instructor in a welcoming workshop environment

Take your knitting to the next level!

By the end of this class, you'll have a bunch of solid crochet skills to help you fix, finish and customise your knitting with confidence. Whether it's picking up stitches, joining pieces, or adding a decorative edge, you'll feel confident, creative and ready to handle it with ease.

Skills Needed

This class is ideal for advanced beginner knitters and beyond. No crochet experience is necessary (though it's a bonus if you have some!).
