Why you'll love it

Hooray! You want to learn to knit! In this introductory class all about knitting for the absolute beginner, we'll teach you the fundamental skills of knitting and get you started on your very own beanie!

Join our learn to knit class and learn the beginner knitting skills you need to complete a simple project. Our teacher Linda will then share some great ideas for more knitting projects you can make at home once you've completed the class. We're excited to introduce you to this wonderful craft which we all love at Skein Sisters!

This fun, hands-on class is all about absolute beginner knitting. There is no assumed knowledge and you don't need to bring anything as the needles and yarn are included in your class fee.

By the end of your 3 hour session you'll have learnt the fundamental skills of knitting... the foundation knitting stitches plus how to start and finish off your knitting. Linda will also share useful knitting tips and tricks used by more experienced knitters.

During the class Linda will cover:

  • tools and materials - the best knitting needles and yarns to use
  • the basic knitting stitches - knit stitch and purl stitch
  • starting and finishing your knitting - easy ways to cast on and cast off
  • plus so much more.

You'll learn on a simple beanie in class, and then Linda will introduce you to some ideas for knitting project and hopefully get started!

With a maximum of only six people in your class, you'll get loads of attention to help you with your first piece of knitting. There'll be plenty of time to practice techniques in class and ask questions.

By the end of this class, you'll be able to confidently make basic knitting projects, and you'll have the skills and knowledge to continue on with knitting at home. You'll also leave with at least one project on your needles, and maybe even two!

With practice you'll soon move on to knitting your own hand-made accessories and garments, or how about making a beautiful blanket to give to a new baby in the family?

Book now for this fun beginner knitting class and get hooked on knitting! We can't wait to see what you make! Share it on Socials #skeinsisters

Thoroughly enjoyed my class with Linda. It was a lovely way to spend a morning with likeminded people. Linda is absolutely lovely and is an excellent teacher that’s able to adapt to different participants skill and learning abilities.
