Trine started in 2010 with patterns, not yarn – a one-woman business selling knitting and crochet designs for babies and children. The yarn came later that same year, imported from Peru, and the first stockists followed.
In 2015 she renamed the business CaMaRose, after her three children: Carl-Emil, Mathilde and Anna-Rose – the reason she had started knitting in the first place. Her mission, in her own words, was to sell quality yarn under her own name that didn't otherwise exist on the market, at a price people could afford.
The yarns are still made to her specification by spinning mills abroad – Denmark is where the design and the deciding happen. The whole range is natural fibre, no acrylic or nylon anywhere, and she asks for certification where she can, while being clear that "a certification is not a final guarantee that everything is perfect".
