Prosper Yarn is a wonderful story of passion, creativity, and community, all the way from West Auckland, New Zealand. After a long hiatus from knitting, owner Lester picked up the needles again, and what began as a leap into a new pattern soon blossomed into something much bigger. A call for help online led to a welcoming local knitting group, sparking Lester’s love affair with hand dyed yarns – and the rest is history!

From humble beginnings dyeing in the kitchen with a big pot, a splash of food colouring, and trusty pink gloves, Prosper Yarn leapt into life the day Lester snapped up 100 kilos of lambswool on Trade Me. Since then, this woman‑owned small business has been crafting beautiful, natural yarns in a riot of extraordinary colours. Their yarn is sourced from New Zealand and Australia where possible, or from high‑quality, certified OEKO‑TEX international mills when needed.

Prosper Yarn is fiercely committed to inclusivity and ethical production. They champion non‑treated organic wool, use low‑impact packaging, and go the extra mile to offset shipping emissions. Animal welfare is front and centre – every batch of wool is mulesing‑free.
