Vegan Yarn

Knitting without animal fibre used to mean taking whatever the shop happened to have. Not any more. Our vegan range covers cotton in most of its forms – mercerised for crisp stitch definition, Egyptian for drape, organic for softness – alongside bamboo blends, paper yarn and the odd metallic thread for a bit of sparkle.

Cotton and bamboo come into their own in warm weather. They breathe, they wash well and they keep their shape, which makes them a natural choice for summer tops, market bags, washcloths, blankets and toys. If you are used to the give of wool, expect a little less bounce and a little more drape. It is a different pleasure, not a lesser one.
