About your teacher: Tinna Thórudóttir Thorvaldar(Iceland)
I love crochet and all handy crafts and have crocheted since I was a little girl, my great grandmother taught me how when I was 9 years old. I in turn have taught crochet classes since 2009.
I have been a professional crocheter since 2012 and have released 3 books with original crochet patterns in Iceland (Þóra Heklbók in 2011, María Heklbók in 2013 and Havana Heklbók in 2016) and was also the editor and contributor of the fourth book (Heklfélagið in 2014).
I also do yarn bombs, since 2010, and was one of 4 textile artists featured in the movie Yarn (2016), where you can see my work. Now I am making more textile (indoor!) art and held art exhibitions, where I do both crochet and embroidery pieces. Please check out my work on Instagram @tinnahekl if you are interested.
I much prefer creating new patterns and art, to computer work and translations, and that is why I have not published any of my patterns here on Ravelry until now. But after much encouragement (mostly from my mom and my husband ) now I am determined to putting my focus on translating my patterns and selling them internationally … even if I have to force myself to put down the crochet needle and pay more attention to the computer once in a while ;)
