In this relaxed and hands-on 3-hour workshop, you’ll learn the foundations of Tunisian crochet by working on a series of small, manageable swatches. Rather than rushing into lots of stitch variations, we’ll slow down and focus on mastering the basics—Tunisian Simple Stitch, foundation rows, bind-offs, and how to shape your fabric with simple increases and decreases. You'll also discover how colour changes can completely transform your work.
No pressure, no patterns to follow—just an encouraging space to explore and enjoy a new technique with expert guidance from Abbey of Abbeymade.

Skill Level:
Advanced beginner. You should be able to work a crochet chain before class—everything else, we’ll cover together!
Duration: 3 hours, in-person class
What to Bring:
- 6mm Tunisian crochet hook (single-ended, no cable needed)
- A standard crochet hook without an ergonomic handle will also work for this class
- Small quantities of two colours of 8ply (DK) yarn such as Fiddlesticks Peppin 8—choose non-splitty yarns and avoid cotton for best results

About your teacher: Abbey from Abbeymade
Abbeymade (Abbey) is a one woman Tunisian crochet designer living on Dharawal country in Sydney, Australia.
Abbeymade’s patterns are inclusive for size, gender and right and left-handed makers. All patterns are vigorously tested by makers of all creeds from around the world. Abbey works full time (this is a side hustle), is married to hook maker extraordinaire, Haemish @catch_hooks, and has a daughter and a beautiful border collie.

Full payment is required prior to the start of the class to confirm your spot.
Minimum numbers - All classes require a minimum of two people in order to go ahead and, depending on the class, a maximum of 6. If your class or workshop does not have the minimum number of students, the class will be postponed and you will be notified within three days of the class date if it has been cancelled or changed.
We cannot be held liable for travel or any other costs in the event of a cancellation.
If your class is postponed or cancelled you can use the amount paid to transfer to another event/activity, use it as a store credit, or be issued a full refund.
Cancelling a class
Up to 7 days before the class - you are able to cancel, postpone or swap a class up to 7 days prior to the class date and can receive a full refund.
7 days-24 hours before the class - we are able to offer a credit but we cannot guarantee a full refund unless another booking fills your spot.
Less than 24 hours before the class - no credit or refund available.
