There's a quiet luxury to Eri silk. Hand-dyed in small natural batches, this 4ply has a soft, cotton-like handle and gorgeous stitch definition – it holds a stitch beautifully, so cables and texture really sing. The colours come entirely from plants and minerals, so every skein carries the gentle variation that only natural dyeing gives.
Eri silk is a 'peace silk', gathered only after the moths have left their cocoons, and it's ethically produced in northeast India. Because each colour is dyed by hand in small batches, we'd suggest alternating your skeins as you work – and no two dye lots are ever quite the same, which is part of the joy of a naturally dyed yarn.
