Chaska Wara is a soft DK yarn with a cotton core and baby alpaca and merino fibres blown through it, creating a light halo and gentle marled effect. It knits into a soft, airy fabric with lovely stitch definition for garments and accessories
Chaska Wara is a wonderfully soft DK / 8ply yarn with a unique construction that gives it a light, airy feel and a gentle fluffy halo. A fine cotton tube forms the core, with fibres of baby alpaca and merino wool blown through the centre, creating a yarn that feels soft and light while still having lovely body.
The different colours in the core and outer fibres give Wara a subtle marled effect - a little like stonewashed denim - adding depth and interest to the finished fabric.
We’ve had yarns with a similar construction in the past that we absolutely loved, but we stopped stocking those ranges when the favourite colours were discontinued. Wara fills that gap beautifully - and the addition of baby alpaca makes it even softer.
It’s smooth to knit with and produces a fabric that is soft, light and comfortable to wear, with excellent stitch definition. This makes it a versatile choice for colourwork, cables, lace or simple stocking stitch, where the texture of the yarn really shines.
Perfect for sweaters, cardigans, vests and cosy accessories.
