A raglan jumper with a buttoned shoulder and a simple hat to match, in four sizes from newborn to eighteen months. The buttons at the shoulder mean the whole thing goes over a baby's head without a struggle.
It is worked flat in pieces and seamed, with a fine rib running through the middle of the front and back that keeps the plain rows interesting.
New Zealand Possum Fusion 4ply is a blend of merino, possum and viscose. Possum fibre is hollow, so it holds warmth without weight - which is exactly what you want for something a small person has to agree to wear.
Tension 28 stitches and 36 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch on 3.25mm needles.
