Love it is a small screen and handprinting studio in the heart of Amsterdam founded by Ingrid. She went to art school and has had a long career as an advertising stylist. Many adventures later Ingrid has found a way to combine all the things she loves in her gorgeous project bags made for crafters: product design, painting, drawing, fabric design, sewing & styling.
The project bags are made with raw, untreated canvas and GOTS certified cotton. The inks are water based and Love it uses her imaginative and adventurous mind to find new ways to keep their ecological footprint as small as possible. From reusing (Scrap bags) and using as little fabric as possible during the print process to making something beautiful from even the smallest printed scraps, Love it's ambition is to create a product that is long lasting and will become a good friend...a friend you'll want to keep forever.
Love it believes in raw, untreated canvas that is sturdy and stands upright by itself. It is not only excellent for the painting and printing processes during production (Ingrid is a passionate painter), it also facilitates comfortable knitting or crocheting hours. Your yarn can float undisturbed from your craft bag to your knitting needles or crochet hook.
Love it also firmly believes in the unlined craft bag. The yarn in your bag can unwind smoothly, there's no friction, and no searching for items in the folds of the lining. Leaving out the lining also makes the bags lovely and lightweight while being sturdy and durable. Last but not least it minimises the amount of fabric used and so contributes to the bags' sustainability.
Social engagement: being a small brand means Love it has to outsource were possible and always attempts to do this with a social focus. The brand new silk screens were made by social workspace De Zeefdrukmakers. This Amsterdam-based organisation gives a stable, safe working environment to 50 people who want to turn a page in their lives, and the working schedules arms them with knowledge and self confidence to reintegrate. Love it has been working with de Zeefdrukmakers since their very first bags were made in 2019.
Care instructions: Love it bags can be hand and machine washed at up to 30 degrees Celsius. Make sure to remove any leather pulls and to use a mild, liquid detergent and dry the bags lying flat. However, best practice would be to soak the bag in cold water for a few hours to avoid shrinking. The bags can be ironed & pressed back into shape. The heat will change the colour for a few seconds..don't worry!
