Madelinetosh, affectionately known as MadTosh, started as an Etsy shop in 2006 in Fort Worth, Texas. Over the years, it’s become one of the most dynamic and leading hand-dyed yarn companies in the world, known for pioneering dye technique and original uses of color.
In the US autumn of 2019, MadTosh joined the Jimmy Beans Wool family led by visionaries Laura and Doug Zander, longtime superfans of the brand. They will continue to preserve the MadTosh legacy of soft, irresistible, and decadent yarn.
At Madelinetosh, they value and embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a big way. They are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.
The team at MadTosh have been brought together by their mutual love of decadent yarns, sinful color, and diversity in our backgrounds, experiences, and expertise in order to influence and strengthen the community for good. Madelinetosh values sustainability and doing good for the planet. That’s why they work with some of the most environmentally friendly and water-efficient mills in the world to source their fibers.
Madelinetosh strives to:
Madelinetosh already have a pretty extensive library of colours, but there's no such thing as too many!. This is where their Hue of the Moment comes in. Each month they debut a new hand-dyed shade (or shades!), and all of their Hue of the Moment colours for 2023 are available dyed to order.
The Hue of the Moment for February 2024 is Stupid Cupid - the colour that gives Valentine’s Day a poke in the eye – think the blues, pink gone off, with a touch of black and dried blood for good measure.

We are able to supply any of Madelinetosh's current bases and colours as a dyed-to-order service!
Madelinetosh's online retail store is currently unable to ship to Australia, as the United States Postal Service has suspended international mail acceptance for Australia due to impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other unrelated service disruptions.
How the dye-to-order service works
Dyed to order means that after you place an order with us, we will pass it on to Madelinetosh. If they don't have it in stock, they then expertly hand dye your colour choice, which makes each skein unique and special just for you. Once your order is ready, it will be included in our regular shipment of our in-stock bases. Deliveries to us arrive every four to six weeks.
Payment upon placement of order is required.
If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com.
Please be aware that we are unable to refund any Madelinetosh that has been dyed-to-order due to change of mind. Refunds will only be given if the yarn is faulty.
If the colour differs slightly from the image, it is not a fault. Due to the differing nature of each base, colours will vary from base to base, but as Madelinetosh prides themselves on their quality control process we are confident that what you receive will be the correct colour.
We have a huge range of Madelinetosh in stock too. Take a look at our In Stock listings here.
