Sesia Mistral is a versatile 4ply / fingering weight merino that sits nicely between smooth and textured - it’s easy to knit with, feels good in your hands and holds your stitches beautifully. Unlike very smooth superwash yarns, it has just enough woolly structure to give projects a bit of character without feeling scratchy or rough.
It reminds us a lot of Brooklyn Tweed Peerie - a much-loved yarn that’s sadly been discontinued - so we’re thrilled to have found a quality alternative. Mistral has that same clean stitch definition and smooth hand, with just the right balance of softness and structure.
With 72 colours in the range, you're sure to find that perfect combination. We currently have 35 colours with the remainder arriving in March/April.
It’s made from 100% fine merino wool that’s been treated to be unshrinkable, so you can enjoy easy‑care wear and washing. With around 175 m (191 yds) in a 50 g ball, it’s ideal for everyday garments, accessories and colourwork. It plays beautifully with other 4ply yarns too - we’ve swatched it using Skein Sisters Fabulous Sock as the contrast in colourwork and the match is spot on.
