NEW! Tweed Marle by Spinning Yarns Weaving Tales is a luxurious 10ply worsted weight yarn, which offers the perfect blend of warmth and durability.
It is unique from other tweeds as it has two complimentary colour singles twisted together... giving oodles of subtle colour. Unlike many other tweeds which can be more rustic in feel, this is a 100% merino yarn so it's soft while still adding lots of structure to the finished fabric. It's ideal for knitting cozy sweaters, hats, scarves, and blankets, Tweed Marle's versatility ensures it’s a must-have for both beginner and experienced knitters.
Its rich, tweedy appearance not only adds visual interest but also lends a timeless charm to your handmade creations. When made up, you'll be amazed at the little pops of colour that appear throughout your knitting and crochet.

This yarn is 'in the oil' meaning the final mill process of scouring the spun yarn was bypassed. This process uses an immense amount of water for no particular reason but to to make the yarn look shiny new... when in fact you repeat the process when you block the garment... a total WASTE of a valuable natural resource!
'In the oil' is also more suitable for machine knitters and handweavers helping lubricate as you work. If you don't like the feel you are free to wash the skeins prior to use.
To wash: Pop your project in a bowl and run water over it. Look how white the water is with all the oil! It only took a minute or so for it to run clear. Before washing the yarn feels quite firm and afterwards it's so beautifully soft and the fabric really blooms!

You can also choose to wash the yarn before you knit/crochet with it. Simply untwist the skein (don't remove the yarn ties), then pop it into a bowl or tub and run water over it until the water is clear. Gently squeeze and roll in a towel to get out the excess water, then hang to dry. Finally, wind into a ball and you're ready to cast on.
