Stacked stitches are an innovative approach to striped colourwork. Stacks can add shaping, create 3D texture, replace short rows, and when combined with stripes, create intricate motifs without unsightly strands on the wrong side of your projects. You'll never need to manage more than one colour at a time  because stacked stitches bend rows of garter stitch into new shapes and patterns using only increases and decreases.

In this fun workshop we will start with an introduction to the basic principles of stacked increases and decreases with some swatches in an easy stack pattern. After all this hard work we will cast on the Fascination Wrap and discover how each row of stitches fits together to form a flat fabric.

We will learn how to move markers, keep track of stitch count, and to fix mistakes in a stack pattern. We will also learn to weave in ends at the end of each colour stripe to save time during finishing.

When: Sunday 26 May 2024 10:00am - 2:30pm AEST

Cost: $230.

The pattern for the Fascination Wrap is included in your workshop fee.

Class Level: Intermediate difficulty; recommended for adventurous knitters as it contains unusual increases and decreases.
